A few days back, I wanted to embed a Geomap of India with data (near real time) of traffic from various cities of India to a website, into a power point presentation. The data was captured using Google Analytics and in essence I wanted the same Geomap as on the GA site in a power point slide without the text around it.
A fan of data visualization, I thought this will be a more fun way to present than drab tables. An example of a Geomap can be viewed here.
After some struggle, I realized that there was no easy way to do it and even its integration with Google Spreadsheets was quite some time away. Finally decided to embed the full GA web page itself into the power point slide. Here is a super cool Liveweb power point add in to do that.
Here’s what my presentation shows now and I am happy till I find a better way to embed the map & related data.
