With this, all Chemist and Clinical establishments in India moved over to a Green Cross.<\/p>\n<p>Turns out that Johnson & Johnson has been using the red cross since 1887. This was \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnj.com\/news\/jnj_news\/20070809_081717.htm\">much before<\/a>\u201d the chartering of the American Red Cross, (found in 1881 by Clara Barton ?), which it is suing now because they have licensed the trademark to several business for commercial purposes.<\/p>\n<p>There is a nice PR battle going on between the two organizations. Most important is  the Red cross\u2019 allegations that, \u201c<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">J&J demands that the Red Cross, stop the Red Cross and its licensing partners from using the Red Cross emblem permanently on first aid, preparedness and related products sold to the public<\/span>\u201c. While J&J maintains, \u201c<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">The goal of this civil complaint is to restore the long-held legal boundaries surrounding the use of the Red Cross trademark<\/span>\u201d which has been established between both organizations during the century old strong cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>I think, currently, it is J&J \u2013 1 and Red Cross \u2013 0. Thanks to Mark Everson, the Red Cross\u2019 president loosely stating, \u201c<span id=\"ctl00_bodycontent_lblArticle\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">For a multi billion-dollar  drug company to claim that  the Red Cross violated a criminal statute, . . . simply so that  J&J can make more money, is  obscene.<\/span>\u201c<\/span> So much for the nuances in languages in Red Cross\u2019 press releases<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Update<\/span> (13th Aug \u201907): Kilmer House (one of the many blogs of J&J)  has an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kilmerhouse.com\/?p=192\">update<\/a> on the who issue with some background.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:85%;\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">I work for J&J currently.
