This is another in the series of posts about the movie Baahubali – The beginning.
I happened to see the movie in Hindi and felt the songs were rather misplaced and didn’t make sense at times. This was probably also because the only exposure to the movie was a fleeting glimpse of the trailer and not prior listening of the songs.
A few days later, I happened to listen to the Telugu versions of the song and felt that the songs linked to the story rather well. So searched for the lyrics and meaning of the songs.
The following is the Dheevara (Telugu) and Khoya Hain (Hindi) song and its meaning and you’ll see why I felt so.
For those who haven’t seen the movie (you can see it part1 here and search for part 2), the protagonist has been trying to climb a huge waterfall for ages without success. Then, one day, he finds a mask that falls from top of the waterfall, realises it’s of a beautiful maiden and renews his quest to climb it.

Telugu
Hindi
This is a beautiful comparison :)
Mostly ignored the right side. bakwaas :)
Thank you for this wonderful comparison. Not knowing Telugu, the Hindi version was easier on the ears but the Telugu one is definitely more accurate and I don’t think I can listen to any other version now.
Was looking for only Sanskrit Lines.
